Dare to be Remarkable

About

Dare to be Remarkable is a full length documentary that chronicles the life of Alyssa Silva and her journey living with spinal muscular atrophy. As Alyssa navigates through life, she takes us along to show us how she dares to be remarkable in every aspect of her life and inspires those around her to do the same. From graduating college to starting her own nonprofit organization and so much more, Alyssa is a perfect example of how a person's limitations and setbacks cannot, and will not, define the way in which we live. Although she has SMA, SMA does not have her.

This documentary was filmed and produced by Animus Studios, a film company based out of East Providence, RI. Over the course of this 3-year filming period, Animus Studios generously donated much of their time to this project at little to no cost. Any funds required for this project came from generous donors who contributed through Working On Walking.

In the spring of 2016, this documentary was accepted into the Rhode Island International Film Festival and won first place amound the humanitarian films! We appreciate everyone's support in this endeavor and look forward to releasing it to the public in tge upcoming months.

What's next?

This documentary will primarily be used for two things: inspiring viewers to push themselves to do things that they feel are impossible and provide hope to people in difficult situations, especially families with newly diagnosed children with SMA. We intend to get this documentary in the hands of as many people as possible, and while doing so, we're thrilled that we'll also be raising awareness about SMA.

Our goal here is simple- to remind everyone that they can always dare to be remarkable no matter what challenges or obstacles they may face. While this documentary educates the viewer on SMA and how it affects us, we also hope it will provide hope and inspiration to anyone who is experiencing some sort of struggle or hardship. This life is what we make of it, and we hope you make it a remarkable one.
